Gaming the Frontier – designer interviews

Gaming the Frontier

I am currently in a History of the American Frontier class as part of my master’s degree. The American Frontier is the setting for many works of fiction and art. “Dime Westerns” were a genre of books written towards the end of the nineteenth century, and films about the settling the West have been popular for many decades. Many board games also use the American Frontier as their theme.

For my final research paper, I want to analyze how this theme has been handled by modern designer board games. I reached out to several board game designers and asked them a set of interview questions. Over the next couple of days, I will be posting these interviews. Feel free to leave any comments or questions you have about board games and the American Frontier.
