Custom Puzzle Hunts
Since 2018, I have been making puzzle hunts for coworkers, family, friends, and events. They have been a featured activity for team-building events, holiday and birthday parties, and board game conventions.
What is a Puzzle Hunt?
A puzzle hunt is a team-based activity where players work to solve a series of puzzles. The puzzles often share a theme, and the puzzle hunt usually features a “meta-puzzle” that all the other puzzles point to.
In my puzzle hunts, players are encouraged to “cheat” by using Google, AI, phone-a-friend, etc. to solve the puzzles. Teams need at least one internet-connected device to submit their solutions and receive feedback for the meta-puzzle. My hunts vary in length from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Examples of past themes include:
- NFL Teams
- US State Capitals
- The number “50” (for a 50th birthday party)
- Christmas songs
